My name is Miriam McCarthy and I'm a twenty-something Anglo-Iranian postgrad student living in London. I'm currently writing a dissertation on identity, language, belonging and mentally-mediated spaces amongst Iranians and 'half' Iranians who have grown up outside of Iran, and are relocating there for the first time or returning there after a long period of absence.
I found your blog through Kebab and 2 Veg and having read through your posts, was hoping to talk to you further about your experiences. Would you be willing to be one of my case studies? I'd love to do a telephone/Skype/face-to-face interview and talk about your life in Iran and the changes you've experienced now that you’re back in London. I don't know how old this post is--I didn't check--but i wanted to tell you that I found your blog through a search for "Starbox Iran." I wanted to show my dad a picture because I think that it is near his apartment in Teheran. But why is it no longer called Starbox? I wonder...I guess they couldn't have gotten in legal trouble with Starbucks, given that they have no legal claim on any goings-on in Iran?

yea, i couldn't find the "starbox" anymore either. i guess it's closed, but not sure why...i have a post with some photos from "raees" coffee
