A Hairy Search

Hairy on the Road

In Google Analytics, a web-page tracker, I can see how many people come to my page, from where, how, from which country, which page they linked from, etc.

I can also see how people arrived the via the keyword(s) they used on Google, or other search engines. It's interesting to see the kind of people who end up on my page, and how they got there... Some are quite hilarious, so I thought I'd share a few of them with you! I've copied them directly, exactly, with punctuation as originally found...

Following are the top 3 Keywords used to get to my blog in the last 30 days ("Hairy Mex" tops the charts nearly every month)

1. hairy mex (top of the charts with 16 hits)
2. arab city nicknamed bride of the desert
3. hairy school

The rest only get better. I had no idea that so many people have this fetish. There is just about every combination you can think of with the word "hairy" Just to recount a few...

Dear Nina,
This is a bit of a stab in the dark but I haven't worked out how to get a message through to you in any other way!

My name is Miriam McCarthy and I'm a twenty-something Anglo-Iranian postgrad student living in London. I'm currently writing a dissertation on identity, language, belonging and mentally-mediated spaces amongst Iranians and 'half' Iranians who have grown up outside of Iran, and are relocating there for the first time or returning there after a long period of absence.

I found your blog through Kebab and 2 Veg and having read through your posts, was hoping to talk to you further about your experiences. Would you be willing to be one of my case studies? I'd love to do a telephone/Skype/face-to-face interview and talk about your life in Iran and the changes you've experienced now that you’re back in London. It shouldn't take very long at all, and for the purpose of ESRC's ethics requirements, would be confidential.

Do let me know if you might potentially be interested in the idea and I’ll send you more information about the sorts of questions I'd hope to ask. My email address is miriam_mccarthy@hotmail.com or you can get through to me via Facebook.

I look forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes,
Miriam

I don't know how old this post is--I didn't check--but i wanted to tell you that I found your blog through a search for "Starbox Iran." I wanted to show my dad a picture because I think that it is near his apartment in Teheran. But why is it no longer called Starbox? I wonder...I guess they couldn't have gotten in legal trouble with Starbucks, given that they have no legal claim on any goings-on in Iran?

Just curious. Great blog, by the way.

Best,
S. Ansari
